Meet (More) Characters of Ariavide, Ever Onward

You’ve already heard all about Feria and Zexes, the two protagonists of Ariavide, Ever Onward (if not, you can read about them here). But no journey is complete without other companions, and I’m writing today to share some insights on other characters who pop up in the book to assist (and in many cases, complicate matters) for our two leads.

Lieza Montrosa: Lieza is the Grand Consul Apparent of the Ariavide City Consulate, which means she is studying to take over the duties of Consulate leadership when the current Grand Consul concludes his service. Lieza is deeply intelligent and keenly insightful, qualities that sometimes war with her more emotional tendencies.

Lieza Trivia: Lieza is so named as an homage to a character in one of my first (very unpublished) novellas—Lisa Thompson’s Magic Wand—which I wrote when I was in elementary school.

Edna Ellace: Edna is Captain of Personnel for the Consulate, managing its members and their assignments. Fiercely devoted to the Consulate and its teachings, Edna’s stubbornness and all-consuming focus sometimes land her in hot water. Underneath Edna’s hardened exterior, however, lies a tragedy she will not speak of—the vicious daemonic murder of her parents.

Edna Trivia: I was obsessed with having the name of a character in this book start with the letter “E”. Don’t ask me why.

Bryn Valice: Rounding out our trio is Bryn, who trains new members of the Consulate before they take on active duties. Bryn arrived at the Consulate from Altar Estrella after declining to join his parents on their travels throughout Ariavide as missionaries, sharing the teachings of the Goddess Yperia. Outwardly charming and quietly ambitious, Bryn is fast friends with most people he meets.

Bryn Trivia: I can’t share a Bryn factoid without giving away a major spoiler, and there are no other details as good as the one I won’t disclose. You’ll just have to read the book, then ask me. 😉
